Just my car from the Dealer and the sound is GONE! Per the instructions of Jag, the dealer keep turning the sleeves until the noise was fixed. Also the Dealer told me that Jag is working on a better fix that should be available in 30 to 60 days.

good to hear. I'm guessing replacement on rear struts and springs entirely to permanently fix the issue.

I hope your right and they replace some parts instead of putting sleeves.

Fixed

Manhattan Jaguar looked at my car. It appears the insulator sleeves were installed already. However, the sound persisted. They re applied the sleeves with some mystery spray and now (1 week out) the noise is GONE. I hope it stays like this

so is it possible the spray was originally part of the process but they just didn't do it because they didn't know?
it's kind of like not applying a thread locker to a screw that holds together some parts that take on serious moving tension, it will come loose if thread locker wasn't applied.

Spray

According to manhattan jaguar, the spray was a solution developed before the sleeves. They were told to not continue using it after the sleeves were developed. However, given the noise was not solved with the sleeves in my case, the technician also used the spray in my car. The combination seems to have done the trick for now.

I wonder how long the spray will last, it sounds to me like jag once again just put a patch to the problem. What we need is a real solution to the problem not some elbow grease that down the road the noise will come back. Is like putting grease on door hinges, it's only not going to squeak for a while, but the noise will come back.
I hate to sound negative but come on, a spray to fix a clunk what a joke!!

As a dealer, I can tell you that there is a bulletin on this and that fixes are on the way. If you have the clunking noise, as I do on my white V8S, take it to the dealer and quote the tech service bulletin. It isn't life threatening, just annoying.

To sum up: my car was delivered new with the sleeves, still had the clunk. Per Jag the strut assemblies were checked and re-torqued, still had the clunk. Now they have replaced the right rear strut assembly and that seems to have fixed the problem. I have driven about 1,200 miles since then and so far so good.

I spoke to my service rep last week and found out that Jaguar is working on another fix beside the sleeves and that he will let me know ASAP. I will posted here the minute I find out.
