Hi - from the UK

Hi, just joined, I love the F-type but then I might be slightly biased as I work for JLR!

Great forum, really good feedback for us, so keep the comments coming.

welcome to the forum!
I don't think you're biased, Jaguar has been known for making amazing performance coupes, just look at their history. Anyone that as a good amount of knowledge of the auto industry will see that the F-Type is one of the best cars to come out for 2013.

Do you plan on getting one? Have you had the pleasure of seeing one in person yet?

unfortunately I don't own an F-type unlike you guys, but I have driven the V6 and have been involved in the design & development of the F. I'm currently running an Evoque, another great JLR car - oh and an S2000!

Yes I have seen the F-type couple a lot around Whitley and Gaydon. I was lucky to also be at unveil of the CX-16 in Frankfurt a couple of years ago.

Can you tell us what your experience was like driving the V6 F-Type? Are you going to make the effort to get out and drive the V8 F-Type one day?

What role did you play in the design and development of it? Would be awesome to hear more about that!

Sure, my drive in the F-type was a little too brief about 45 minutes, but enough to know its quite a car, sounds amazing and gets you to illegal speeds very quickly! Its quite a wide car, I think photos of it on its own make it look smaller than it is when in fact it has great road presence. I certainly intend to drive the V8 as soon as I can.

My role in the development is that I designed the Dynamic-i feature and the instrument cluster (speedo & tacho) for the CX-16 showcar and X152, thats the F-type and the coupe, my area of responsibility is for the design of all the in-car screens and clusters across Jaguars, Land Rovers and Range Rovers, so my team designs the look and feel of what you use and as much as possible we also try to improve the usability working with the HMI team and again where poss influence to improve the hardware too.

Did how the seat was positioned make it seem like a big car? I know in cars where you're seated low the rest of the car can seem big especially when you're trying to park it or move it around some tight spaces
