My check engine light turned on yesterday. I had the code read today and it is showing code P0496. I looked up this error code on the internet and this is what I found:

"When trouble code P0496 is set, it means that there is an issue with the purge flow in the EVAP system."

Does anyone know what this means and what might be the cause. Most importantly, does anyone know how expensive this fix will be.

I don't know if this is some important information for troubleshooting, but I was driving the car very fast and very hard before the light came on. After having some fun, I parked the car for a few hours. When I started it up the next time, the engine light was on.
