You should check out the new Corvette C7. It was just released. It is some machine.

Here's a good walk around regarding the vette.
Vastly improved interior, but the back end needs more work.

Question is how the Jag F-type will compare to the C7 price per features, and performance?

F-Type! Nothing can beat how amazing the F-Type design is. Chevrolet might have been able to build a beast but nothing will be as unique as the F-Type.

Interesting comparision between the two, which are within each others price range.

Both have upscale leather & suede interiors.
Both have bold new styling - though the rear of the C7 vette needs a bit of work.
Finesse goes to the jaguar but the horsepower variance is considerable.
Base F-Jag 360hp Turbo V6/Hybrid vs 450+hp V8 with cyclinder deactiviation [drops to a V4, when on highway drives at speed]

I personnally need to know about the hybrid and how it works in comparision to the cylinder deactivation. Anybody got a link to more comprehensive info?

I think these two cars are close and the vette can be bargained down with a bit of haggling vs. the Jaq one price fits all- high road.

Wouldn't it be better to compare the V8 Jaguar F-Type to the Corvette C7? Rather than the V6 to V8 Corvette?

Another car we should also compare the F-Type to is the new SRT Viper.

If I'm not mistaken the v8 jag F type is starting at 90K.
So it is considerably out of the price range of a vette which could possibily reach 70K at max.

So different strata...

The F-Type is the more premium car. The V8 corvette is respectable at the price it comes in. It's a bargain. But it isn't a Jaguar. The quality, fit, finish still won't match the Jaguar.

at the end of the day your comparing two legendary cars here. but when it comes down to quality and class the Jaguar of course takes the win. The corvette is astonishing for what it is and all the changes it has been through but at the end people will always throw the class card down first. I would pick the F-type simply because you can somewhat consider it an exotic where you cant really even come close with the corvette.
