-Type-inspired twin exhaust tips on the all-new Jaguar F-Type revealed

You know those beautiful E-Type-inspired twin exhaust tips on the all-new Jaguar F-Type revealed at the Paris motor show last week? They’re hand-made in Italy by Unifer, a company that normally specialises in premium motorcycle exhaust systems for the likes of Ducati and other two-wheel exotica.

Jaguar studio design director Wayne Burgess told CarAdvice the story of how engineer Gary Strain was so inspired by the original centrally mounted twin tailpipes of the six-cylinder E-Types (12-cylinder models had four pipes) that he ran off to Europe to find something very special for the F-Type and found it in Italy.
Weeks later, Strain arrived back in the UK and presented the Jaguar F-Type design team with a beautiful leather-bound aluminium suitcase packed with samples of handcrafted exhaust tips from the Italian firm, making an immediate and lasting impression. The rest, as they say, is history.
