Is anyone else having issues with the interior lighting responding when the headlights come on?

Mine are only sporadically changing to dark mode when the auto headlights turn on so the Nav screen is absolutely blinding because it's so bright, and the interior lights such as backlighting for the A/C, rear demister etc are all still white rather than a dimmer blue.

If I put something over the light sensor on the windscreen they change straight away. I am based in Melbourne Australia and the dealer doesn't think anything is wrong with it.

It's at best annoying, at worst absolutely dangerous.

Anyone got any advice or had the same issue??
