Readers' verdict on F-type
Watch the video verdict, here
On sale from April, priced from 58,500

The Jaguar F-type is the spiritual successor to the company's celebrated E-type. The hotly anticipated convertible goes on sale in the UK from April.

It comes with a choice of two engines, a V6 and V8. The supercharged V6 produces 335bhp in the entry-level model and 375bhp in the V6S. The top-of-the-range version gets a 488bhp V8.

An eight-speed automatic gearbox is standard on all F-types at launch. It delivers fast changes and can be operated manually using the steering wheel-mounted paddles.

The F-type's interior is very much focused towards the driver. It is uncluttered and the perceived quality is very good. A central touch-screen operates most of the car's functions, while central air vents rise from the top of the dashboard to help maintain the clean lines.

Watch the video below to find out what a selection of What Car? readers thought of the car at an exclusive event showcasing the Jaguar F-type V8.
